Oh Henry!

I have to share this night with the world!

My dear little Henry slept trough the entire night! Well.... almost. The little man slept for 5 hours, I fed and changed him and then he went back down for 4!!! If you would have asked me if this would ever happen 3 days ago I would have said your crazy.

I don't care if this is just a one time occurrence, or a little sneak peak of the future :). Thank you Henry for the well needed rest :).

Introducing the Bump!

I would like to introduce everyone to our little bump... his name is Henry! He blessed us with his appearance on July 20th (Grandma Debra's Birthday!) at 10:24 am. He was bigger than expected weighing in at 7lbs 3oz! We couldn't feel more lucky ... he his happy and very healthy :). I look forward to writing more frequently about our adventures as a new family!

This is the two of us seconds after Henry was born. I am so happy Nick took this picture... he captured such an amazing moment.

Here is Nicholas looking as excited and happy as ever!

Well I hear the little guy waking up. More to come later!

Here's some beautiful things!

For all who have been waiting... here is a picture of my growing bump! We are 18 weeks along and other than the unexpected headaches I feel wonderful! Right now I have put down the books and spend my time daydreaming about the baby instead of reading about it. In two weeks we find out the sex of this little gorgeous thing and I seriously feel like I can't wait a day longer! Just for fun I added some other pictures of new and beautiful things in Nick and I's life.

Our puppy Lucy!

One of the roses Nick's mother gave me a couple of days ago.

I wish everyone a great weekend!

Hello Again!

Hello! I have decided to start blogging again...this time with a whole new perspective. As most of our friends and family know, Nick and I are expecting our first child this July and we couldn't be more excited! I plan to write about our new adventure and each little bump along the way!

Im going to start with a list of things I'm looking forward to this Spring and thrilled to hear what you all are getting excited for as well!

A house full of fresh peonies... The flowers I have began to adore...

Decorating our nursery. Ideas are welcome!

Beginning a recipe box filled with my grandmothers' dishes...

Rainy day walks...I can't wait to smell the fresh outdoors coming back to life after what seems to be one of the longest winters of my life!

And last but not least... A new pair of green Hunter boots to accompany me on those rainy day walks...

That's it for now... But I look forward to writing again very soon!

Labor Day!

Hi everyone! Im so sorry this has taken so long to write, but I haven't been feeling well lately.
Labor Day weekend was so wonderful and relaxing! I was in Brainerd at my parents cabin with the family. A lot of us don't get together very often so it was nice to be able to spend the weekend together. We had lots of kids running around, people water skiing, bonfires, happy hour boat cruses and so much good food it was ridiculous! Nick was able to come up for the latter part of the weekend and finally get to meet some more of the family. It was so sad to leave because we didn't know if we would be able to make it up once again this summer. Other than that I don't have much to say, but I did take a lot of pictures to share!

The weather was on our side! This picture was taken on our way to Ivan's on the Bay where we had cocktails and appetizers. So beautiful!

Bad-mitten! My mom and I played Nick and my uncle Jim. They whooped us!

This is my dad's puppy Ranger who seems to be growing 5 lbs a week!

I love this picture because it shows when you have water the kids will come! My parent's lake is so shallow it's perfect for the kids to play in.

State Fair 2009

Nick and I went to the State Fair for the 2nd time together yesterday, and we had a blast! The State Fair is one of my favorite things to do and I get extremely excited for it each year. We lucked out because the weather was fabulous, sunny, but not too hot. We ate tons of food. A couple items that I remember are cheese-curds, footlong hotdog, corn, steak sandwich, deep fried snickers bar, gyro, deep fried pickles, wine ice cream, french fries, and mini donuts! The deep fried pickles and wine ice cream were new favorites to us. If you haven't been to the state fair yet, when you do go, I suggest you try those two things.
Other then eating mass amounts of food, we went on the Old Mill boat ride. A first time for Nick, I told him it was something he had to do incase they shut it down one day. It's been at the State Fair for 96 years! We also went on the faris wheel, went through a couple of fun houses and played some games. Nick won me a huge moose, I honestly think it was the biggest prize you could win at the fair! It was so big it was causing commotion so we brought it to the car. We finally took our tired butts home at midnight. I am sad it's over and I have to wait an entire year to do it again.

Nick hates rides but will amuse me and go on the faris wheel each year.
Every year Nick gets a shirt of us....this year he picked 'what dreams are made of'!

We decided to name him Marty..

Krista's Bridal Shower/Sunday Day Off!

Yesterday was my dear friend Krista's bridal shower which was held at her mom's house in Bloomington, MN. Krista and I met while working at Abercrombie & Fitch as managers. We became quick friends, and although neither of us still work there, we have stayed very close over the years. Krista will be marrying her long time love Jason, with which they have a beautiful son Carter who is 2! I feel honored to be a bridesmaid along with Krista's sister Britta, Jason's sisters Jana and Jourdan, and Krista's good friend Bri. I am so happy for the both of them and wish them the best of luck!

All of the girls in the wedding party!

My beautiful friend Krista!

I look a little tragic, but Krista looks great!

The rest of the afternoon was spent with Nick making tacos for dinner and doing not much else. It was a rare occasion because dinner was at 7pm, which is about 2 hours earlier than normal, followed by homemade chocolate chip cookies (ok, I had a little help from Nestle) and Law & Order reruns.
